Social Model Recovery Systems is a non-profit organization focused on treating individuals affected by drug and alcohol use and/or mental health issues. Their Skid Row office provides a safe and nurturing environment for the surrounding community to seek resources. After they received a Community Development Block Grant from the City of Los Angeles, office42 architecture outfitted their office space and community room with new furniture. Additionally, we designed a mural showcasing an abstracted downtown city grid, emphasizing the importance of the city streets being a cornerstone of the community in the residents' struggle to claim space and agency within the City of Los Angeles.
