With the influx of H and HHH funding, the City has converted the existing third floor level in the Hollywood YWCA building into new interim housing for 64 homeless women and looked to office42 to handle ADA upgrades. Due to the historic nature of the building and the short timeline of the project, there were many challenges, but within 10 days of starting the project, permits were obtained. Through case management meetings with the Department of Building and Safety as well as Historic Preservation Departments, we were able to create an ADA strategy that satisfied accessibility requirements without sacrificing the historical conditions of the building.
